The APM Project Fundamentals Qualification (PFQ) is a Level 4 qualification awarded by the Association for Project Management (APM), the chartered body for the project profession in the UK.

It is designed for those who are new to project management or looking to formalise their understanding of core project principles. The PFQ covers the fundamentals set out in the APM Body of Knowledge, including scope management, scheduling, risk, quality, and stakeholder engagement.

What Is the APM PFQ and Why Does It Matter for Nuclear?
For the nuclear sector specifically, the PFQ provides a recognised baseline that demonstrates an individual understands how projects are planned, controlled, and delivered within regulated environments.

Nuclear employers increasingly list the PFQ as a desirable or essential qualification for roles such as project coordinator, project support officer, and assistant project manager.

Our Nuclear Project Management Skills Bootcamp includes the PFQ exam as part of the programme, with all exam fees covered through government funding for eligible learners.
