Specialist Training Built for Everyone Who Works in the Sector
The UK nuclear sector faces one of the most significant workforce challenges of any industry. Delivering on new build, managing decommissioning programmes and sustaining ongoing operations all require a growing pool of people with the right skills, the right qualifications and a clear understanding of what working in nuclear actually means. The challenge is not just attracting people in. It is developing them properly, recognising the breadth of expertise the sector needs, and creating pathways that work for career switchers and new entrants as well as established professionals. The past three months have seen 360 Nuclear Skills Training expand its portfolio, deepen its sector credentials and make its programmes more accessible to a wider range of employers and individuals.
A dedicated home for nuclear training
Nuclear employers, major projects and supply chain businesses need a training partner that understands the sector and major project delivery, not a generic provider with a nuclear module bolted on. The launch of 360 Nuclear Skills Training as a dedicated brand within the 360 Skills Training family reflects that. It brings together a growing portfolio of nuclear workforce capability solutions under one identity, with its own website and LinkedIn presence for in-depth sector updates and major nuclear news. The brand exists for nuclear employers building SQEP workforces, supply chain businesses developing their people and individuals looking to enter or progress within the sector.
Recognised for skills-led change
At the UK Nuclear Skills Awards 2026, 360 Nuclear Skills Training was named winner of the People Power, Skills Leading Change Award. Awards of this kind matter not because they validate effort, but because they signal to employers, learners and the sector that the approach is working. Skills that create genuine, accessible pathways into nuclear, that support people from diverse backgrounds and that connect training to real career outcomes are what the industry needs more of. This recognition sits alongside the work, not above it.
Training for every stage of a nuclear career
The 360 Nuclear Skills Training portfolio is designed to meet people wherever they are. For anyone entering or working within the UK nuclear sector, including supply chain employees and career switchers, the Nuclear Induction Course is a one-day online programme covering the nuclear industry landscape, regulation, safety culture, project management fundamentals, supply chain dynamics and the professional behaviours the sector expects. It is the practical, fast starting point that every new entrant deserves.
For those who want to go further, Nuclear and Projects Essentials is a structured four-day online programme combining nuclear induction with core project management skills. Graduates, early careers professionals, new starters and everyone who works in or on a nuclear project will find a programme that builds both sector understanding and the practical skills needed to contribute from day one.
Cost support for employers investing in their workforce
For employers and supply chain businesses looking to develop their teams, two DWP-funded Skills Bootcamps are now available, both covering 90% of costs for SMEs and 70% for larger employers.
The Advanced Manufacturing Skills Bootcamp covers 3D printing, 3D CAD and Digital Manufacturing techniques, disciplines increasingly relevant to nuclear businesses navigating new build, decommissioning and ongoing operations. The Nuclear Projects Fundamentals Skills Bootcamp is a Level 4 programme, APM Accredited and NSAN Endorsed, aligned to the APM Body of Knowledge and culminating in the APM Project Fundamentals Qualification. For businesses that need project delivery capability at scale, and want a programme that carries independent sector endorsement, this is a practical and cost-effective route.
The credentials behind the quality
APM Accredited Training Provider status, Nuclear Institute Educational Affiliate status and NSAN endorsement for Nuclear PM programmes provide independent assurance that the training on offer meets the standards the sector sets for itself. For employers selecting a training partner, and for individuals choosing where to invest their time, that independent validation matters.
Approval as a CTP Preferred Supplier and ELCAS Learning Provider also means that armed forces leavers now have clear, funded routes into nuclear careers, a talent pipeline the sector has good reason to take seriously. The technical aptitude, discipline and problem-solving capability that define military service translate well into the demands of nuclear.
In conversation with the sector
Understanding what employers, professionals and the wider nuclear community actually need from training requires being present where those conversations happen. Over the past quarter that has meant the Wales Nuclear Forum Dinner, the Nuclear Institute Cumbria Dinner, the Nuclear Industry Association SME Event, the MTC National Nuclear Manufacturing Conference in Coventry, Advanced Nuclear Technologies 26 in Liverpool, the Nuclear Institute Western Branch Dinner and Women in Nuclear UK event, the Nuclear Strategy Great Britain Enhancing the Nuclear Economy Conference, the Nuclear Institute Professionals Conference, the Nuclear Institute North West Dinner and the Northern Nuclear Alliance Social Value Conference. Listening to what the sector needs is what shapes the programmes we build.
