Nuclear Project Management Essentials training course overview

Driving positive change through nuclear skills

We work with employers, supply chain partners, schools, colleges and community organisations to deliver practical Social Value programmes that support skills, inclusion, S.T.E.A.M. (Science, Technology, Arts, Maths) engagement and future workforce development.

Our approach is simple: create programmes that are easy for employers to sponsor, meaningful for communities and relevant to the skills needs of the UK nuclear sector.

The UK nuclear sector depends on people. From clean energy and decommissioning to defence, advanced manufacturing and major infrastructure, the sector needs a strong pipeline of skilled, confident and work-ready talent. 360 Nuclear Skills Training helps employers contribute to that pipeline through structured, measurable and ready-to-run Social Value programmes.

Attract, Train, Retain - Social Value that supports the nuclear mission

Our approach to building the nuclear workforce of the future

Social Value in nuclear is not just about goodwill. It is about creating long-term capacity in the places where nuclear projects are delivered, and demonstrating measurable, demonstrable social impact along the way.

That means helping young people understand the opportunities available to them, inspiring future careers, and supporting employers with programmes that are credible, practical and aligned with recognised Social Value expectations.

The UK nuclear sector faces a generational workforce challenge and addressing it requires a connected approach, one that attracts people into the sector, equips them with the skills employers need, and supports businesses to retain the talent they develop. Our Social Value programmes are built around that three-stage pipeline.

Attract

Grass roots solutions that create visible pathways into the sector for young people and communities connected to nuclear projects. Through employer-sponsored programmes delivered in partnership with local colleges, we turn social value commitments into meaningful early careers engagement.

Train

Employer sponsorship funds free access to structured, professionally recognised training for people who might not otherwise reach the nuclear sector. We turn social value investment into work-ready talent, creating measurable impact for individuals, communities and the businesses that sponsor their development.

Retain

Social value does not stop at the point of training. Employers who create structured pathways from community engagement through to employment build stronger, more loyal teams with a genuine connection to the places where nuclear projects are delivered. Our programmes are designed to support that full journey, from first awareness through to a career in the sector.

Our turnkey Social Value programmes

Two practical programmes designed to help employers and supply chain partners deliver meaningful Social Value without adding unnecessary pressure to internal teams.

Nuclear Project Management Essentials

A grassroots Social Value programme for 16-18 year olds, designed to introduce young people to the industry in the places where nuclear projects are delivered.

Delivered online over six 2.5 hour sessions, the programme builds confidence, teamwork, communication, planning and problem-solving skills through exploring project planning, stakeholders mix, digital tools, AI, sustainability and final project presentation skills.

The course is free to learners, schools and colleges through employer sponsorship, helping nuclear sector businesses support future talent, strengthen bid responses and deliver measurable Social Value.

L.I.F.T. Local Industry Funded Training

A fully managed Social Value and impact programme that connects employers with schools, colleges, youth groups and charitable organisations through STEM activities, work experience and career awareness sessions.

Through employer sponsorship, the programme provides 3D printers, CAD software, safety equipment, branded learning resources, educator training and ongoing support. Communities gain access to specialist skills and equipment while young people develop technical confidence linked to future careers in nuclear, manufacturing and other high-demand sectors.

For employers, L.I.F.T. provides a ready-to-run route to deliver community impact, support STEM skills development, build stronger advocacy links and generate evidence for Social Value reporting and tender submissions.

Helping employers strengthen bids and deliver real impact

Social Value is an increasingly important part of public sector and major project procurement. Buyers want to see evidence that suppliers can contribute to local communities, skills development and wider economic benefit.

Our programmes help employers move beyond generic commitments and provide practical examples of action. By sponsoring programmes such as Nuclear Project Management Essentials or L.I.F.T., employers can demonstrate:

This gives bid teams stronger evidence, operational teams a simple delivery route and communities a programme it leaves something useful behind.

Building thriving, resilient and inclusive nuclear communities

A strong nuclear sector depends on strong local communities. That means creating access, raising aspirations and helping people understand where their work could take them.

Our Social Value work supports a fairer and more inclusive route into the nuclear industry by helping learners develop confidence, technical awareness and transferable professional skills. Through our programmes, we aim to:

Introduce young people to visible nuclear career pathways

Build links between employers and education

Help learners develop project, digital and communication skills

Support schools and colleges with relevant skills engagement

Encourage STEAM participation

Support social mobility in communities connected to nuclear projects

Practical outcomes with long-term Social Value

Our Social Value programmes are built around action, not activity, for the sake of it. We focus on programmes that create lasting benefit by giving learners, educators and communities the knowledge, equipment and confidence to keep developing after the initial engagement.

Future talent development

Young people build understanding of the nuclear sector and the early pathways into it through structured, skills-based learning.

STEAM access

Learners and educators gain access to specialist equipment and career-linked learning opportunities not otherwise available to them.

Employer engagement

Creating a structured way for nuclear employers to connect with local talent and education providers.

Skills confidence

Supporting learners with communication, planning, teamwork, digital awareness and problem-solving skills.

Community capability

Leaving behind resources, training and support that continue to create value.

Bid-ready evidence

Helping employers show clear, relevant and measurable Social Value delivery.

Proud to support fair work, skills and opportunity

360 Nuclear Skills Training is committed to helping more people access meaningful careers in the nuclear sector. We believe Social Value should unlock open doors, build confidence and support communities where major projects and major chances happen.

The future of nuclear will be built by people. Our role is to help ensure there are fair routes into that workforce, give the confidence and show the first step.
